Abstract: From philosophy, mathematics, and physics to the arts, literature, and medicine, the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) is a vast and varied body of knowledge that has been built over millennia. As IKS engages with contemporary scientific and technical advancements, it is undergoing a renaissance. However, there are enormous obstacles to maintaining, advancing, and incorporating this enormous body of knowledge into international scholarly and practical discourse. With an emphasis on its philosophical underpinnings, the use of traditional knowledge in contemporary culture, the difficulties of preservation, and the incorporation of IKS into global knowledge systems, this essay examines the Indian Knowledge System in light of current circumstances. The Indian Knowledge System's applicability to modern social science education is examined in this essay. It emphasizes how conventional wisdom in the areas of philosophy, ethics, government, the environment, and social harmony may enhance contemporary teaching and learning procedures. The National Education Policy 2020 and other educational reforms that support IKS in the curriculum are also covered in the study. The study comes to the conclusion that integrating Indian knowledge traditions can support students' growth in critical thinking, cultural awareness, and value-based education.
