The conversion of ultraviolet (UV) light to visible light is critical in applications ranging from solar energy harvesting to LED lighting, biosensing, and agricultural photonics. In India, the demand for efficient UV-to-visible converters is growing due to the expansion of photovoltaic systems, UV disinfection, and smart lighting. This report compares Eu²⁺ (Europium(II)) and Bi³⁺ (Bismuth(III)) phosphors and highlights materials and technologies relevant to Indian research and industry.
