| Abstract: | This paper offers a comprehensive study on the impact of social media on mental health . It aims at assessing both the negative as well as positive aspects of its effect on day to day life , especially on the younger generation (youth and children) . In today's world , social media has been deeply influencing individuals personality , behavior, thinking capacity and uniqueness. Additionally, it affects mental well-being by causing anxiety , lower self esteem , body image , social connectivity and depression . This study dwells into the psychological facet of social media use by examining existing literature and conducting empirical studies as well as offers an insight for further exploration and approaches on the topic . |
