In the modern development age, non-governmental organizations perform a variety of roles in society, including women's empowerment. Governments, non-governmental organizations, and other development agencies are primarily concerned with women's empowerment. Women who are empowered have a feminist philosophy and aspire to empower other underprivileged women. Several feminist non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are empowering women to ensure that they have all of the rights they deserve in the country. The study's major goal is to examine the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in women's empowerment, how NGOs work to improve women's lives, and what NGOs contribute to women's empowerment. Secondary data were used in this investigation. Shimla district in Himachal Pradesh was chosen as the study region, and the research was analytical in character. The survey shows that women are becoming more empowered, and non-governmental organizations are playing a key part in this. This study paper investigates the crucial role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in promoting women's empowerment in a variety of socioeconomic and cultural circumstances. The study investigates the diverse interventions performed by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to address women's difficulties and improve their agency, economic independence, and social status. The study, which draws on a thorough examination of current literature, case studies, and empirical evidence, explores the impact of NGO activities on women's empowerment and the factors that influence their effectiveness.
