The fashion industry is widely recognized as one of the most environmentally and socially damaging sectors due to its linear and resource-intensive production processes. To address the sustainability challenges faced by the industry, a paradigm shift is required in the way apparel is designed, produced, and consumed. This research paper explores the concept of modularity in apparel design as a promising approach to foster sustainable clothing practices. By analysing the benefits, challenges, and implications of the modularity approach, this paper aims to provide insights into its potential for promoting circularity, reducing waste, and enhancing the longevity of garments.
