Abstract: Bio-floc technology is a new way of farming fish that uses bacteria to clean the water and turn fish waste into food for the fish. It is a low-cost method that is good for the environment and reduces the need for chemicals and other expensive inputs. In bio-floc systems, fish grow faster, get sick less often, and have a better chance of surviving. This technology can be used to farm different types of fish, and it helps to provide food for more people while reducing pollution and waste. The present study was conducted in Soro block of Balasore district of Odisha. Descriptive research design was followed for the present study. The data was collected from 120 respondents. It was collected randomly from 6 villages using pre-tested structured interview schedule and analyzed using frequency, percentage & Ranking. From the data collection it was found that majority of respondents were facing major constraints such as lack of energy supply for mixing and aeration followed by inconsistent during winter due to low temperature and difficulty in bulk sale of bio-floc fish and so on. Major perceived suggestions were such as Reduce stocking density, Use solar-powered aeration, use hardy fish species, diversifying your product line to include other value-added products.
Keywords: Bio-floc technology, aeration, energy supply, constraints, etc
