| Abstract: | Many countries around the world recognize that high-speed Internet is an essential element in achieving the broader goals of nation building and its transition to a knowledge-based economy. Everyone agrees that high-speed Internet is essential for promoting the development of a sustainable economy and job creation. It is also strategic for fighting poverty, improving job opportunities and accelerating integration into international trade. This study aims to assess the development of broadband in Morocco, to identify the main obstacles to its growth, to explore the possible sectorial policy options and to make recommendations likely to accelerate investments in broadband connectivity. This study places particular emphasis on supply-side sector policy actions related to infrastructure. |
