Education for a nation not only contributes to national solidarity, scientific temper, mental and spiritual independence but also builds one’s character. These goals and visions compose the New National Education Policy. To educate, encourage, and enlighten is its motto, which implies encouragement to go to school and pursue an education that will enlighten oneself and help resolve the problems of the larger population. It builds on the 1968 and 1986 national policies. This policy comes as a silver lining to the stagnant and outlived education policies; however, critics argue that the policy boasts about impracticable, utopian and unattainable goals.
