Abstract: This study sought to analyze the effect of employees training on performance using a case of Co-operative bank of Kenya. The study specifically intended to focus on training needs assessment and how it influences performance of the bank. The study was informed by leadership theory. The study adopted a descriptive research design. The study used a census of 200 employees working at the head office. Primary data was collected using a questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics and summarized in tables and charts. In general, performance of Co-operative bank of Kenya, Nairobi was found to be highly determined by training needs assessment (β=0.357 p-value= 0.000). Training needs assessment had an influence on performance. This study concludes that training needs assessment positively and significantly influences performance of Cooperative Bank of Kenya Ltd. The study recommends Co-operative Bank Ltd to focus on assessment of the training needs of employees by conducting regular assessment on the level of knowledge of the employees, documenting skills possessed by all employees, conducting needs assessment to identify skills and knowledge gaps and training needs identification therefore with an aim of improving organizational performance.
