The introduction of Single National Curriculum by the Imran Khan government has been a subject of heated debate amongst scholars and many civil society groups. On one hand, the on the pretext of mainstreaming the curriculum of the educational institutions viz the private, public, including the madrassa education so as to bridge the so called gaps between the rich and the poor, the reform in the garb of a unified curriculum, intends to legitimize Islamization again on a big scale. Instead of reforming education on a progressive note, this regressive initiative of the previous regime with many loopholes, could lead Pakistan two steps backwards.
