Abstract: : Initially we conducted an energy audit to a cattle food plant.we analyzed the major requirements and problems appeared while operation of plant. The information collected gave the details about plant machineries. Plant machineries including intake chain conveyer, rotary feeder, hammer mill, powder conveyer, paddle conveyer molasses mixer pallet mill etc. Intake chain conveyer gives raw material to rotary feeder from dumping hoppers which feeds it to the hammer mill. The current situation of hammer mill is using star delta starter and the continuous operating at full rating capacity i.e, even there is no intake hammer mill runs at full rated capacity. Rotary feeder is also not fully controlled. This audit is only about the basic studies of plant machineries and the improvements and safety parameters implementation. We made a survey of whole plant and then determined our project goals to be achieved. Implementing VFD drives for motors and sensors for safe door operation is our prime concern. This will increase the efficiency of whole plant and low power consumption which will relatively lower the cost of operation of plant.
