Abstract: Topology is a fundamental branch of mathematics that studies the properties of spaces preserved under continuous transformations. Among the most important concepts in topology are compactness and connectedness. Compactness generalizes the notion of finiteness, while connectedness describes the idea that a space cannot be separated into disjoint open subsets. This paper investigates the definitions, properties, and relationships between compactness and connectedness in topological spaces. The study highlights major theorems, examples, and applications of these concepts in modern mathematics. Recent research continues to extend these notions to generalized topological structures, demonstrating their significance in both theoretical and applied mathematics.
