Vibrations play a critical role in the performance, comfort, and reliability of automotive systems. In the automotive industry, unwanted vibrations lead to noise, reduced ride comfort, and accelerated fatigue of structural components. This paper reviews the sources of vibration in vehicles, their effects on passengers and components, and the modeling, simulation, and experimental methods used to analyze and control them. The study also highlights the role of noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) strategies and modern vibration-testing standards with special emphasis on internal-combustion and electric vehicles. The findings indicate that integrated NVH design practices, combined with advanced simulation and test methodologies, are essential for developing refined, safe, and durable automotive products.
