Abstract: Attachment theory offers a critical lens for understanding how early caregiver–child interactions shape patterns of relating in adulthood. Although considerable research has examined attachment in the domains of family and romantic relationships, the workplace — another central context for adult social functioning — has received comparatively less attention. This study explores the influence of adult attachment styles on job satisfaction and workplace relationships among working professionals. Using a quantitative, cross-sectional design, data were collected from adults aged 21–50 years with at least one year of work experience. Standardized instruments were employed, including the Experiences in Close Relationships – General Short Form (ECR-GSF) to measure attachment anxiety and avoidance, the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) to assess job satisfaction, and a workplace social support scale to evaluate perceptions of collegial and supervisory support. It is hypothesized that securely attached individuals will demonstrate significantly higher job satisfaction and more positive workplace relationships compared to those with insecure attachment styles. Specifically, attachment anxiety is expected to be negatively associated with workplace autonomy and perceived support, while attachment avoidance is anticipated to predict lower satisfaction with collaboration and team cohesion. The study seeks to extend attachment research into organizational contexts, with implications for employee wellbeing, workplace coaching, and interventions aimed at fostering healthier, more supportive professional environments.
