| Abstract: | The Spanish colonization of the Americas, beginning with Christopher Columbus's voyage in 1492, saw Spain establish a vast colonial empire across the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. This colonization lasted for nearly 300 years, with Spain extracting valuable resources like gold, silver, and other commodities. While Spain gained wealth, the colonization also led to devastating consequences for indigenous populations, including disease outbreaks and forced labor. |
