ABSTRACT
A comparative analysis of crypto currency and traditional investment options reveals that younger investors and tech-savvy individuals are more inclined towards crypto currency due to its high return potential and decentralized nature, while older and risk-averse investors prefer traditional investments. Factors influencing investor choice include market trends, peer influence, accessibility of investment platforms, and media portrayal of crypto currencies. The study compares crypto currency and traditional investment options, focusing on investor preferences, risk perceptions, and satisfaction levels. Crypto currencies are seen as volatile but potentially lucrative due to rapid technological innovation and decentralization. The study aims to analyse demographic influences on investment choices, awareness levels, and perceptions of risk and security in Mysore City residents regarding crypto currency and traditional investments. The study employed a convenience sampling method with a total sample size of 160 respondents. To analyse the data, descriptive statistical tools were utilized, including frequency, percentage, scale name, mean deviation, and standard deviation, coefficient of variation, Likert scale, total weight score, and weighted mean score. The study suggests a balanced investment strategy combining traditional and crypto assets, highlighting the need for better investor education and transparent communication. The study concludes that investor perception is shaped by psychological comfort, socio-demographic characteristics, and trust in financial systems. As investment landscapes evolve, financial advisors and policymakers must recognize shifting preferences and address knowledge gaps, especially in emerging economies where digital finance adoption is rising.
