Radioisotope imaging, a pivotal field within nuclear medicine, offers unparalleled insights into the early diagnosis and management of cancer. Modalities such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) utilize radiolabeled biomarkers to capture molecular and metabolic activity at the cellular level—well before structural changes become evident. This review delves into recent innovations in radiotracer chemistry, hybrid imaging technologies, and their growing clinical relevance. Particular attention is given to the early detection of malignancies such as breast, lung, and prostate cancers, where subtle biochemical shifts frequently precede overt anatomical manifestations.
