Abstract
The aim of the present study was to explore the relationship of academic stress with resilience among higher secondary school students (11th and 12th class only). Academic -stress refers to the body's response to academic-related demands which exceeds a student's adaptive capabilities. Resilience is the psychological quality that allows people to be knocked down by the adversities of life and come back as strong as before. When we are faced with a crisis or problem, it can be easy to get overwhelmed by things that feel far beyond our control. Instead of wishing there was some way to go back in time or change things, it can be helpful to try focusing on what we can directly impact. This is the core point of resilience. It was hypothesized that there would be a significant relationship of academic stress with resilience among higher secondary school students. People with higher resilience tend to have low level of academic stress. Higher resilience is related to lower stress in academic matters. The present paper focuses to explore the relationship between academic stress and resilience among higher secondary school students.
