Abstract: A shopping mall is a place where a wide range of goods and services are available. In today's technological age, malls have a significant influence on shopping habits. Although many customers now purchase various products online, there are still several drawbacks to online shopping, such as the inability to physically examine products, the risk of cybercrimes, and issues with online payments. These challenges often encourage customers to prefer shopping at physical stores. As a result, shopping malls continue to hold a relevant place in the market today. This study aims to examine customer perceptions of shopping malls in Balasore City. It is based on both primary and secondary data, collected through a well-designed questionnaire. A total of 50 respondents (including students, professionals, housewives, service workers, and business people) from Balasore City participated in the survey conducted between October and December 2015. The data collection process included a preliminary review for completeness, followed by editing, coding, tabulation, and grouping according to the study’s requirements. The analysis of the data was performed using percentage methods.
