This review is a synopsis of the application of different nanoparticles i.e. silver, gold, copper and selenium nanoparticles to control the biofilm associated problems faced by the various food industries. The major part of the review covers how the different biofilm-formers affect the formation of biofilm in food industries and, also, the use of different nanoparticles i.e. silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) and selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) to control their growth. AgNP has shown the most antibiofilm activity compared to the other three nanoparticles.
