Personality traits, encompassing patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, define an individual's characteristic responses to diverse situations. Within the well-educated and informed group of UGC scale teachers, understanding their personality traits is crucial to establishing a link between these traits and investment motives. Investment motives, such as safety, capital appreciation, education, retirement planning, and tax savings, are influenced by personality traits like extraversion, openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and neuroticism. Financial institutions must grasp investors' personality traits to assess risk tolerance and investment motives effectively. By categorizing investors based on their personality traits, institutions can tailor products to meet specific needs and customize features accordingly. This study, focusing on 80 UGC scale teachers in Karnataka, investigates the impact of the Five Big Personality Traits on investment motives. Utilizing primary data sources via a structured questionnaire, the research employs descriptive and inferential statistics, including multiple linear regression and ANOVA, analyzed using SPSS and JAMOVI software tools. Findings indicate no significant impact of the Five Big Personality Traits on investment motives. N-Way ANOVA results reveal that, overall, personality traits and investment motives exhibit no significant difference in means, with the combined effect of extroversion and openness influencing investment motives by 39.8%.
