Immunity refers to the body’s ability to protect itself from disease-causing agents, like germs and viruses. It’s like a complex defense system that keeps you healthy.
Immunity refers to the body’s remarkable ability to protect itself from harmful invaders like germs (pathogens) that can cause diseases.
Types of Immunity -
a)Innate Immunity:
This is your body’s first line of defense. It’s like a general guard at the castle gate. It includes physical barriers like skin and mucous membranes that prevent germs from entering your body. It also involves general immune system responses like inflammation and fever to fight off infection.
b)Adaptive Immunity:
This is a more targeted defense system, like the specialized army within the castle. It involves B and T Lymphocytes, which are white blood cells that recognize and attack specific pathogens. This is what creates long-term immunity through natural infection or vaccination.
c)Passive Immunity:
This is temporary immunity borrowed from another source. For example, a newborn receives antibodies from its mother’s breast milk. This provides short-term protection until the baby’s own immune system develops.
This study focuses on the development and evaluation of an immunity-boosting syrup formulated with turmeric extract. Turmeric, derived from Curcuma longa, is renowned for its medicinal properties, primarily attributed to its active compound, curcumin. The syrup was meticulously prepared using turmeric extract, honey, ginger extract, and other natural ingredients recognized for their immune-boosting attributes. The research extensively examined. The syrup’s physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity, and immunomodulatory effects through a series of in vitro and in vivo assays.
