Abstract: The financial landscape may be drastically altered by Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs), which have the potential to change monetary systems all over the world. The various effects of CBDCs on monetary policy, financial stability, and the conventional banking industry are examined in this article. It explores how CBDCs, particularly in underbanked areas, could promote financial inclusion, lower transaction costs, and improve the effectiveness of payment systems. Additionally, the study looks at the dangers and difficulties that come with putting CBDCs into practice, including potential disintermediation of commercial banks, privacy issues, and cybersecurity threats. The study offers insights into the practical consequences and policy issues for central banks thinking about the introduction of digital currencies by examining case studies from nations that have experimented or adopted CBDCs. The results indicate that, even if CBDCs have a lot to offer, cautious planning and regulatory monitoring are essential to reduce risks and guarantee a smooth transition to a future of digital money
Keywords: CBDC, disintermediation, payment systems, monetary policy, digital currency, financial stability, central banks, and financial inclusion.
