Abstract: Damage to concrete buildings after fire is a serious problem that can affect structural integrity. Fire causes a decrease in ‎concrete strength due to spalling and changes in microstructure. Research shows that exposure to high temperatures and ‎cooling methods affect concrete deterioration. Carbonation tests on the columns, beams and slabs of the EA Building, ‎Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negert Makassar, showed that the entire structure experienced significant ‎carbonation, which could cause reinforcement corrosion and a decrease in strength. Evaluations carried out through ‎visual observations and laboratory testing, showed that although most of the structure was still strong, some parts ‎required immediate repair. The use of additives and improved grouting techniques is proposed to improve post-fire ‎resistance. This study aims to provide guidance for evaluating the performance of structures after exposure to high ‎temperatures and provide recommendations for improvement.‎
