| Abstract: | Wellness tourism has been considered one of the most emerging and resilient economic sectors. And it is one of the most ancient forms of tourism, which focuses on sustaining balance between mind, body, and soul. Although the tourism industry suffered greatly because of the COVID-19 pandemic, individuals are now more aware of their lifestyle preferences and overall well-being. Afterwards, wellness centers have received a positive push. Himachal Pradesh has a lot of potential to draw wellness travelers from around the world. Himachal Pradesh provides an ideal base for the growth of wellness tourism because of its wide range of medicinal plants and its quality of environment. Two major destinations, Dharamshala and Palampur of Kangra district, have been selected for the present study. The researcher used primary and secondary sources for the collection of data. Based on ten variables, a hundred stakeholders from the research area were interviewed to examine their perceptions of the prospects wellness tourism presents for state development. Through the descriptive statistical tools, it has been inferred that the majority of respondents strongly agree that due to wellness tourism, a plethora of opportunities are developing in Himachal Pradesh. |
