Different materials were used to make lightweight pistons, for making piston material should have high strength with low weight and low coefficient of thermal expansion. To overcome the high-density issue aluminium alloys are introduced and for further improvement Al alloy composites were also introduced. So, in the same order here in the work effect of different Al alloy composite (Al-Al2O3, Al-SiC, and Al- Al2O3-SiC) was used for piston materials. Numerical structure and thermal analysis were done for each material using Ansys. For each case of material, it calculates the value of equivalent stress, total deformation, temperature distribution, and heat flux. Through FEM analysis it is found that Al-Al2O3 composite shows better performance as compared to other composite and alloys materials.
