This work focuses on production of biodiesel from Erythina indica a seed oil non-edible feedstock. The seeds consist 35% of oil which is significant for the biodiesel. The physicochemical properties of the oil are determined in accordance to American Oil Chemical Standards (AOCS). The oil is subjected for base catalyzed transterification process with 1 % KOH as base and 1:6 proportion of methanol solvent with respect to oil under optimum temperature of 700C with 300 rpm stirring speed. The percentage yield of biodiesel is verified through 1H-NMR spectrum. The fuel properties are determined and are compared with the fuel properties of petrodiesel and biodiesel standards such American Standards Testing Mehods (ASTM), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and European Standards (EN).
