| Abstract: | The demographic dynamics has brought with it the areal growth and spatial transformation of the city. As there has been a sharp spurt in the population of Gurugram city in the last 10 to 20 years, there has been a parallel increase and growth in its area. The need to accommodate the growing population has caused this increase in area. The growth in its area has brought with it the change in the nature of landuse with the growing limits of the city. This has brought the encroachment of the peripheral villages. Consequently, there has been landscape change in the city. This paper will make an attempt to know about the areal growth of the city and responsible factors that is vital for understanding the growth dynamics of the city. |
