Abstract: Bryophyllum pinnatum (Crassulaceae family) was widely used in traditional medicine. They can be found in tropical Africa, India, China, and tropical America, among other places. Residents of southern India and Bengal use the plant as a source of Pashanabheda, also known as Parnabeeja, a Crassulaceae member, to treat renal ailments. Alkaloids, triterpenes, glycosides, flavonoids, steroids, bufadienolides, lipids, and natural acids are among the dynamic combinations found in the plant. The pharmacological studies are looked into and examined, focusing on the fact that this plant's unique concentrate has mitigating, antiallergic, antiianaphylactic, antiileishmanial, antiitumorous, antiulcerous, antibacterial, gastroprotective, immunosupprive, insecticidal, muscle relaxant, soothing, focal sensory system depressant, and pain relieving properties. It is traditionally used to cure fever, obstruction, hair sustenance, and silver hair, as well as digestive turbulence and leucorrhea. The current survey is being conducted with the goal of focusing on the numerous ethnobotanical and traditional uses of B. pinnatum, as well as the phytochemical and pharmacological data. In this survey, you'll also learn about the various phytoconstituents that are utilised to treat diseases of the central nervous system, such as Huntington's disease.
