— Awareness to antenatal women about anemia, gestational diabetes mellitus and pregnancy induced hypertension in OPD at tertiary care hospital. And evaluation of prescription pattern in pregnant women. Materials and method of this study is a prospective observational study on gestational diabetic mellitus, hypertension, and anemia in pregnant women in gynecology OPD. The study population included antenatal women attending in OPD and who meet the above criteria were involved in the study. The data collection schedule was divided in two parts. The first part consisted of sociodemographic details of the subjected and medication information. And the second part was used to assess the awareness about anemia, gestational diabetics and pregnancy induced hypertension was collected and documented in a suitable designed multiple-choice questionnaire. There are 8 multiple choice questions regarding gestational diabetics, 6 multiple choice questions regarding hypertension, 6 multiple choice questions regarding anemia for the second part. Correct answer was given a score point of “two” and wrong answer was given score of “zero.” Scoring was categorized as good knowledge, average knowledge, and poor knowledge. The data was entered in Microsoft excel and analyzed. This study also included the prescribing pattern of drugs in pregnant women with U.S. FDA classification. The result in this study is A total of 101 cases analyzed out of which 80 (79.2%) were 3rd trimester and majority of subjects were falling between the age of 25-30 (47.5%). With regards to occupation and education majority had attended bachelor degree 77 (76.23%) and majority were homeworkers 64 (63. 36%). There is a gradual increase in number of anemia and PIH cases. Percentage of drugs prescribed majority were category A followed by category B and category. This study findings indicate low level of awareness regarding GDM and PIH compared to anemia among antenatal women. There is a gradual increase in number of anemia and PIH cases. The knowledge regarding PIH and GDM was less compared to other studies but knowledge regarding anemia was good. And the prescribing pattern study findings indicated the majority prescribed drugs were category A.
