Abstract: Plants have long been utilized as a valuable source for the development of new pharmaceutical products and cost-effective raw materials in the synthesis of various established drugs. In addition to angiosperms, gymnosperms play a significant role in the medicinal flora found in Indian forests. These majestic plants hold great cultural and economic importance for the country. In this particular investigation, the Ethanolic extracts derived from the leaves of the Cycas revoluta plant were meticulously prepared to evaluate the plant's potential as an antimicrobial agent. The Ethanolic extracts obtained from the leaves exhibited promising antimicrobial properties. Notably, these extracts demonstrated potent antimicrobial activity against both E.coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Interestingly, the antimicrobial activity of the Ethanolic extracts against these two bacteria strains was found to be quite similar. These findings further underscore the importance of isolating and characterizing novel molecules present in the leaves of this plant, as they may hold significant pharmacological potential.
