The goal of this project is to determine, critical sources of energy waste in the thermal power plants situated in Mettur and create a strategy to reduce them using energy and exergy studies. The global energy supply-to-demand ratio is diminishing due to an increase in demand and declining turbine efficiency. A turbine's primary purpose is to produce energy by converting heat into labour. However, its efficiency can decrease due to flaws in the process cycle.
