How to Submit Your Research Paper to IJRTI
This is the complete path from a finished manuscript to a confirmed, screened submission. If you haven't formatted your manuscript yet, do Tutorial 2 first.
- 1
Finalise your manuscript
Confirm your file matches the IJRTI template — required section order, one consistent citation style, and an abstract of 150–250 words. See the full specification.
- 2
Gather co-author details
Full name, designation, institutional affiliation and email for every author — plus ORCID iD if available. Incomplete co-author details are the most common reason initial screening is delayed.
- 3
Run the submission checklist
Work through the 12-point Submission Checklist before opening the portal — it takes five minutes and catches most rejections before they happen.
- 4
Open the submission portal
Go to the online submission portal. No account creation fee is required.

- 5
Enter title, abstract and keywords
Paste your finalised title, abstract and 5–8 keywords exactly as they appear in your manuscript, so the metadata matches the file. Select the correct Research Type (Research Paper, Review Article, Case Study, etc.) and Research Area — IJRTI is a multidisciplinary, UGC CARE Approved journal that accepts all subjects, so choose the closest match to your field.
- 6
Upload your manuscript file
Upload the
.doc,.docxor.pdffile, under 10 MB. This is Step 1 of the 4-step portal shown above — Authors, Address and final Submit follow next.💡 Name the fileSurname_Title.docx— it helps the editorial team match your upload to your form entry instantly. - 7
Review and submit
Double-check every field, then submit the form. Do not refresh or navigate away while it's processing.
- 8
Save your confirmation
You'll receive a confirmation email with a manuscript reference number. Save it — you'll need it to track your paper's status.
How to Format Your Manuscript Using the IJRTI Template
Correct formatting is the single biggest lever on how fast your paper clears initial screening.
- 1
Set the page and font
A4 page size, 1-inch margins on all sides, Times New Roman 12pt body text, 14pt bold headings, 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment.
- 2
Build the required section order
Title → Authors & Affiliation → Abstract & Keywords → Introduction → Methodology → Results & Discussion → Conclusion → Acknowledgement → References. See the full structure.
- 3
Write a searchable title and abstract
Include your method, domain and application in the title. Write the abstract in 150–250 words, stating actual findings with numbers rather than "results are discussed."
- 4
Pick one citation style and stay consistent
Choose IEEE, APA or MLA. Every in-text citation must have a matching reference-list entry, and vice versa. See Citation & Referencing Styles.
- 5
Caption every figure and table
Number them sequentially, caption each one, and reference every figure/table at least once in the body text. Build tables as editable Word tables, not pasted images.
- 6
Proofread against the checklist
Run the Submission Checklist one final time before saving your file for upload.
How to Register & Link Your ORCID iD
An ORCID iD is a permanent identifier for you as a researcher, in the same way a DOI permanently identifies your paper. It stops your citations being split across multiple author records.
- 1
Go to orcid.org and register
Create a free account with your name, email and institutional affiliation.
- 2
Decide your one canonical name form
Choose exactly how your name will appear on every future paper — e.g. always "Rajesh Kumar," never alternating with "R. Kumar" — and use it consistently for the rest of your career.
⚠️ This single decision has more effect on your long-term citation count than almost anything else on this page. - 3
Complete your public profile
Add your current institution and, if you have them, past publications — this helps disambiguate you from other researchers with similar names immediately.
- 4
Provide your ORCID iD at submission
Include it in the author details section of every IJRTI submission from now on.
- 5
Add your DOI to ORCID after publication
Once your paper is live, add the DOI to your ORCID works list — many databases can also do this automatically via the CrossRef/ORCID auto-update link.
How to Avoid Plagiarism & Pass the Similarity Check
Every submission is screened for similarity before it reaches a reviewer. Most flagged papers aren't intentional plagiarism — they're careless paraphrasing or under-cited background sections.
- 1
Write your literature review from understanding, not copying
Read a source, close it, then write what you understood in your own words. Never paraphrase sentence-by-sentence with a source open next to you — that produces the near-identical sentence structure similarity tools flag hardest.
- 2
Quote sparingly, and always with quotation marks
If you must use an author's exact wording, quote it directly with quotation marks and a citation. Unmarked exact-wording copies are treated as plagiarism regardless of intent.
- 3
Don't recycle your own previous text without disclosure
Reusing large sections of your own earlier published work without citing it is self-plagiarism, and is treated the same as any other similarity violation.
- 4
Cite as you write, not afterward
Add the citation the moment you use a source's idea, not at the end from memory — this is how references get accidentally dropped, which both weakens your paper and increases apparent similarity.
- 5
If flagged, revise the specific sections — don't just resubmit
A similarity flag returns identified sections for revision. Rewrite those sections from understanding (Step 1), don't just swap a few synonyms — surface-level word substitution is easily detected and treated the same as the original flag.
How to Complete Payment for Your Publication Fee
Payment is only requested after your paper is editorially accepted — never before.
- 1
Wait for your acceptance email
It contains your exact fee (₹599 for Indian authors, $40 USD international) and a secure payment link.
- 2
Confirm the amount with the Cost Calculator
Cross-check against the Cost Calculator if you added any optional extras, so there are no surprises.
- 3
Pay through the official link only
Use only the link in your official acceptance email. UPI, net banking and cards are accepted for Indian authors; card and international wire for overseas authors.
⚠️ Never pay via a link sent through unsolicited email or a third party — payment is only ever collected after acceptance is confirmed directly by the editorial office. - 4
Save your transaction reference
Screenshot or note the transaction/UTR number immediately after paying.
- 5
If it isn't confirmed within a few hours, don't repay
Email editor@ijrti.org with your transaction reference and manuscript number — this is usually a delayed confirmation callback, not a lost payment.
How to Track Your Paper's Status
- 1
Locate your manuscript reference number
Sent in your original submission confirmation email.
- 2
Open the tracking portal
Go to Track Your Paper and enter your reference number.
- 3
Read the status stage
Submitted → Under Screening → Under Review → Revision Requested → Accepted → In Production → Published. See what each means in the Help Center.
- 4
Follow up only if genuinely overdue
The typical publication window is 1–2 days. If you're more than two weeks past that with no movement, email the editorial team with your reference number.
How to Respond to Peer Review Comments
A well-structured response document is the fastest route through re-review.
- 1
Read every comment before writing anything
Get the full picture of what both reviewers raised before you start editing the manuscript.
- 2
Number each comment in a response document
A simple numbered list — Comment 1, Comment 2 — matching the reviewer's own numbering if they used one.
- 3
State exactly what you changed for each point
"Revised Section 3.2 to clarify the sampling method (see page 6, highlighted)" — specific, not "addressed as suggested."
- 4
Explain, don't ignore, any point you disagree with
Give your reasoning with evidence or literature support. Silence on a comment reads as an oversight, not a considered decision.
- 5
Highlight changes in the revised manuscript
Use track changes or a highlight colour so the editor and reviewers can find your edits quickly against the response document.
- 6
Resubmit both files together
The revised manuscript and the response document, submitted as a pair.
How to Verify Your DOI & Indexing Status
Run this check on every paper you publish — ten minutes, every time, catches metadata errors while they're still cheap to fix. Full background in Indexing & Abstracting.
- 1
Test that your DOI resolves
Paste
https://doi.org/followed by your DOI into a browser. It must land on your article page. Give it 72 hours after publication before testing. - 2
Check the CrossRef record
Search your DOI at search.crossref.org. Confirm title, every author name, affiliations, journal, ISSN, volume/issue/pages, date and licence.
- 3
Search Google Scholar
Search your exact title in quotation marks. Allow 2–6 weeks before expecting a result, and add the paper to your Google Scholar profile manually.
- 4
Check the aggregators
Search your DOI or title on openalex.org, scilit.com and explore.openaire.eu.
- 5
Verify the journal-level record
Look up ISSN 2456-3315 on portal.issn.org and IJRTI in road.issn.org.
- 6
Connect your identity
Add the DOI to your ORCID record and claim the article on ResearchGate.
How to Download Your Publication Certificate
- 1
Wait for your publication confirmation email
Sent the moment your paper goes live with its DOI.
- 2
Open the certificate download link
Each listed author receives their own certificate, not just the corresponding author.
- 3
Check the details before using it
Verify your name, paper title, ISSN, volume/issue and DOI are all correct before submitting it anywhere official.
- 4
Report any error immediately
Email editor@ijrti.org with the correct spelling and your DOI for a reissue.
How to Use the Cost Calculator
- 1
Open the calculator
Go to the Cost Calculator — no login required.
- 2
Select your author type
Indian (₹599) or International ($40 USD).
- 3
Add any optional extras
Hard copy, plagiarism report or other add-ons, if you need them.
- 4
Read the itemised total
This is the exact figure you'll be asked to pay after acceptance — keep it for reference.
