📝 Submission Help

My file upload keeps failing

This is almost always a file format or size problem. IJRTI accepts .doc and .docx only — a PDF, a scanned image, or a Google Docs export link will be rejected by the upload form. Check the file is under 10 MB; large embedded images are the usual cause of oversized files. If the manuscript is genuinely image-heavy, compress the images inside Word (File → Compress Pictures) before re-saving.

I didn't receive a submission confirmation email

Check your spam/junk folder first — automated confirmation mail is frequently filtered by institutional email systems. If nothing arrives within an hour, do not resubmit; instead email editor@ijrti.org with your name and paper title so the editorial team can confirm receipt manually and avoid a duplicate entry.

Can I submit the same idea as two separate papers?

Only if each paper makes an independently substantial contribution — splitting one dataset or study into multiple thin papers (“salami slicing”) is treated as an ethics concern under the COPE Ethics Policy and may result in both being returned.

My co-author's details were entered incorrectly

Author list and affiliation corrections must be requested in writing, with agreement from all listed co-authors, before final acceptance. Corrections after DOI registration require a formal metadata update and take longer, so verify every author's name, affiliation and ORCID carefully at the proof stage — see why this matters for indexing.

What if my paper is below the minimum 4-page length?

Expand the discussion, related work or methodology sections rather than padding with whitespace or oversized figures — reviewers notice, and it can affect the review outcome. If your contribution is genuinely a short communication, note that in your cover note; short communications are a recognised format (see Documentation).

How do I know my submission actually reached the editorial team?

You'll receive a confirmation email with a manuscript reference number. Keep that number — you'll need it to track your paper's status and in any follow-up correspondence.

💳 Payment & Fees

What exactly does the fee cover?

The ₹599 INR (Indian authors) or $40 USD (international authors) fee is all-inclusive: peer review, ISSN registration, CrossRef/DataCite DOI, publication certificate, plagiarism screening and indexing propagation. There is no separate submission fee and no invoice after acceptance beyond this one payment.

My payment was deducted but not confirmed

This usually means the payment gateway processed the transaction but the confirmation callback to our system was delayed or missed — a common banking-side timing issue, not a lost payment. Do not attempt the payment a second time. Instead, email editor@ijrti.org with a screenshot of the transaction/UTR number and your manuscript reference, and the editorial team will verify and confirm manually, typically within a business day.

Do I get a GST invoice?

Yes. A GST-compliant invoice is generated automatically for Indian author payments and is included in your confirmation email. See the GST Policy for details on tax treatment.

Am I charged if my paper is rejected?

No. The publication fee is only requested after editorial acceptance. There is no submission fee, so a rejection costs you nothing but review time.

Can I get a refund after paying?

Refund eligibility depends on the stage your paper was at when the request is made. Full details, including which scenarios qualify, are in the Refund Policy.

🔍 Peer Review

How long will review actually take?

Initial screening completes within roughly a day; the double-blind review decision, revision and full publication with a live DOI are all typically complete within 1–2 days of submission, depending on how quickly you return any requested revisions.

I disagree with a reviewer's comment — what do I do?

You are not required to accept every comment blindly. In your response document, explain your reasoning clearly and respectfully for any point you choose not to implement, supported by evidence or literature where possible. The handling editor weighs your justification alongside the original comment.

My paper was rejected. Can I resubmit?

Yes, once it has been substantially revised to address the reviewers' concerns. There is no penalty for resubmission and no additional fee, since publication fees are only charged after acceptance.

Why does IJRTI use double-blind review?

Both reviewer and author identities are hidden from each other, which removes institutional prestige, seniority and personal familiarity from the assessment — evaluation is based on the work alone. See the full process in About IJRTI.

How many reviewers assess my paper?

A minimum of two independent subject-matter experts, drawn from a panel of 3000+ reviewers across disciplines.

🔗 DOI & Publication

My DOI link shows an error

First, wait — DOI registration is typically live within 24–72 hours of publication, and a link tested too early will fail. If more than 72 hours have passed and https://doi.org/ followed by your DOI still returns an error, email the editorial team immediately with your DOI and manuscript reference; this is a registration issue the publisher must fix, not something on your end.

Do I need to request a DOI separately?

A CrossRef/DataCite DOI is available on request as an add-on to the standard publication process — it is not automatically assigned, so let the editorial team know at submission if you need one.

My name is misspelled in the published metadata

Contact the editorial office as soon as you spot it. A corrected record can be deposited to CrossRef, but it takes time to propagate to aggregators, and duplicate records can persist downstream — which is exactly why proof-stage checking (see Documentation) matters so much.

How do I cite my own DOI correctly?

Always use the full resolver form: https://doi.org/10.xxxxx/xxxxx, not the bare DOI string and not the journal page URL. This is the version guaranteed to keep resolving even if the site is redesigned.

What's the difference between "accepted" and "published"?

Acceptance is the editorial decision that your paper will be published; publication is when it actually goes live with a DOI, typically a few days to a couple of weeks after acceptance once typesetting, proofing and DOI registration are complete.

🌐 Indexing & Visibility

My paper isn't on Google Scholar yet

This is normal in the first few weeks. Google Scholar crawls on its own schedule and typically lists a new article within 2–6 weeks of publication. In the meantime, confirm your DOI resolves and add the paper to your Google Scholar profile manually, which also helps the crawler find it.

How do I check where my paper is actually indexed?

Follow the six-step self-verification routine on the Indexing & Abstracting page — it walks through testing your DOI, checking the CrossRef record, and searching Google Scholar, OpenAlex, Scilit and OpenAIRE directly.

Why do citation counts differ between Google Scholar and CrossRef?

They draw from different sources with different coverage — Google Scholar crawls broadly (including theses and preprints), while CrossRef counts only citations from publishers that deposit reference lists. Disagreement between the two is expected, not an error.

My co-author has two different profiles for the same name

This happens when a name is written inconsistently across papers (e.g. “R. Kumar” vs “Rajesh Kumar”). The fix is an ORCID iD used consistently going forward — it won't merge past records automatically, but it stops the problem from growing.

Can I ask IJRTI to submit my paper to a specific database?

Propagation to Google Scholar, OpenAIRE, OpenAlex, Scilit, ResearchGate and Zenodo happens automatically from the CrossRef deposit — there is no manual per-article submission step, so there's nothing to request. If a specific record is missing after two months, contact the editorial office to check the underlying CrossRef deposit.

How do I check my paper's current status?

My status hasn't changed in several days — is that normal?

Within the typical 1–2 day publication window, yes — some stages (especially "Under Review") naturally take longer than others. If your paper has shown no movement for more than two weeks beyond the expected window, contact the editorial team with your reference number.

I lost my manuscript reference number

Search your inbox for the original submission confirmation email, or email the editorial team with your paper title, author name and approximate submission date, and they can look it up.

🏆 Certificates

Where do I download my publication certificate?

Certificates become available for download immediately after your article is published, through the link sent in your publication confirmation email. See the step-by-step in Tutorials.

My certificate has a typo

Email editor@ijrti.org with the correct spelling and your DOI or manuscript reference. Corrections are reissued once verified against the published metadata.

Can each co-author get their own certificate?

Yes — a certificate is issued for every listed author on an accepted paper, not just the corresponding author.

How do I get a hard copy of the journal?

Hard copies are available on request; shipping charges apply and are communicated at the time of request. Email the editorial office to arrange one.

What's the plagiarism / similarity threshold?

Is IJRTI actually UGC CARE approved — how do I verify it myself?

⚙️ Technical Support

The submission form won't load or keeps freezing

Try a different browser (Chrome or Firefox, updated to the latest version), clear your browser cache, or try from a different network — some institutional networks block certain form submissions. If the problem persists, email your manuscript directly to editor@ijrti.org as an attachment so you don't lose time.

I can't open a page on the site

Confirm you're using the correct current URL rather than a bookmarked or shared link that may be outdated, and try reloading. Persistent broken pages should be reported to the editorial team with the exact URL.

Emails to editor@ijrti.org are bouncing

Check for typos in the address and confirm your own outgoing mail isn't being blocked by your institution's server (common with some university email systems). Try WhatsApp as a fallback: +91 63544 78822.

The WhatsApp number isn't responding

Support hours are Mon–Sat, 9 AM–6 PM IST. Messages sent outside this window are answered the next business day. For urgent matters, email is monitored slightly more broadly.
