Abstract: A heat exchanger is usually a device employed to transfer heat amongst a solid object and simply a fluid or between two or even more fluids. In order to increase the heat transfer rate different types of turbulators were used inside the heat exchanger. Here in this work, circular perforated turbulators were used to increase heat transfer rate. In this work, it calculate the effect of different shapes of perforation on circular turbulators, for analysing the effect of different shapes of perforation, it considered four different shapes of perforation that is circular, elliptical, rectangular and triangular and calculate the value of Nusselt number, friction factor and thermal performance for each at different Reynolds number. Also finding the effect of change in Reynolds number on heat transfer, it considered four different Reynolds number that is 6000, 80000, 10000 and 12000. Through analysis it is found that heat exchanger having triangular perforation shows an average of 22.9% heat transfer enhancement as compared to circular perforation.
