Abstract: Abstract: In this paper we study an efficient face and fingerprint recognition system using two methodologies discrete cosine transform (DCT) and principal component analysis (PCA). The experimentation is done on the standard datasets, such as ORL, UMIST for face and FVC dataset for fingerprint. From the trial result, it is demonstrated that DCT based system has enhanced recognition rate than PCA approach
